Paying Taxes, and Fearing Deportation
Thousands of tax returns were seized from a tax preparer's business by the county sheriff's office in Greeley, Colorado in connection with an investigation dubbed "Operation Number Games." The investigation began late last summer, and the local sheriff reportedly stated that "his investigators had identified about 1,300 illegal immigrants who had filed tax returns bearing fake or stolen Social Security numbers."
